Review

Story

The talented and intellectual director Krish who gave us ‘Gamyam’ has arrived with yet another venture and this time on a larger scale.

Cable Raju (Allu Arjun) is in love with a rich girl (Deeksha) and he pretends to be a rich guy though he is from a slum and is a cable operator, Vivek (Manoj) wants to become a rockstar while his mother wants him to get into army, Saroja (Anushka) is a prostitute who decides to escape to Hyderabad for better business, Raheem (Manoj Bajpai) is a victim of misunderstanding as a terrorist, Nagaiah (Ramulu) is a victim of poverty and decides to donate his daughter in law’s kidney for the grandson’s education. What fate has in store for each form the rest of the story.

Allu Arjun has come up with a decent act and his role was a mix of comedy and seriousness. The character was etched very well and it is a message oriented one.

Manchu Manoj does hit bit with ease and though he plays a subdued character, he makes his presence felt. One fails to understand why his title credit has been given as ‘Guest appearance’ while he has done a full length role.

Anushka looks seductive and sensuous. However, it doesn’t live up to the hype that has been created. It is a different role for her and she did justice to it.

Manoj Bajpai is a powerhouse of talent but it must be said that his skills were hardly utilized. Telugu Movie Reviews

Ramulu was at ease in front of the camera and he made it look real.

Deeksha was luscious and appealing, Lekha was brief, Saranya was standard, Raghu Babu was regular, Satyam Rajesh gave few smiles. The actor doing the cop’s role was effective while the actor who did the role of ‘Karpuram’ made his presence felt.

Guest appearances of Brahmanandam, Posani and Krish are meaningful.

Good things about ‘Vedam’:

There is a message for ambitious youth if they wish to take..

* 'Never aim at something very far and do mischief to attain that. Listen to your conscience if you are doing wrong that time' (Allu Arjun- Nagayya episode)
* ‘Never assume that there are many people to help those are in needy, and you are not one among them. You too may need help and you may find a true helper from the man who you troubled’ (Sardarjee-Manoj episode)
* ‘Never brand anyone with religion’ (Manoj Bajpai-inspector episode)
* ‘Look at sex workers with different perspective. After all, prostitution is the oldest profession which is still continuing in every part of the world’ (Anushka-Karpooram episode)
* ‘Look at the poorest of the poor in the society those are getting their basic needs by selling their body parts’ (Nagayya episode)

Final Analysis:

The film arrives with a lot of expectations given the names associated with it. But, this is not a formula movie that entertains everyone. This movie is for sensible audiences who can melt their hearts for sensitive aspects of society.

It is basically a narration of various characters with different backdrops and challenges in life. While the depiction of that aspect is good, it is always essential to develop content on that. The makers have come up with a good attempt to portray the elements of good and evil.

Dialogues were impressive at few places, background score was impact creating and songs are also good both for eyes and ears. The real show stealer was the cinematography. Script was okay.

The storyline is routine but the difference is there are multiple characters and how they are brought together is the variety. While the first half and second half are engaging and different tracks are handled well, the climax loses momentum and gets a bit dragging. Someone with a caliber of Krish could have portrayed a different backdrop for it. On a whole, Krish proved to be a director with material in him.

The key is for the audience to connect to any one of the characters and that didn’t happen here. Overall, the film can be credited for the attempt to give a realistic outlook on life and the choices individuals make at a particular moment. Still, it could have been much impact creating if content was deep.

On a whole, the movie brings tears in a couple of scenes and Allu Arjun excelled in them. Manchu Manoj was stated to be in guest appearance, but he has a full length role. The message is ulterior but it is a sincere movie with idealistic idea portraying darker side of 5 lives.

Bottom Line: Except climax rest is heart touching

The 10 marriage commandments

Ten years down the line in a marriage, most couples find it hard to keep their relationships steady, but that's not the case with the soccer ace David Beckham and his wife Victoria.

The couple will celebrate 10 years of wedded bliss on July 4 and their love seems to be growing stronger every year.

Now, love psychologist Susan Quilliam has revealed the marriage commandments that keep them together, reports the News of the World.

1 Give each other space - Absence makes the heart grow fonder, especially when living on different continents. While David is playing football in Italy, Victoria keeps herself busy juggling family life and her fashion career in the States.

"Separate interests keep their love fresh and alive. They make the most of, and live for, the time they spend together," says Quilliam.

2 Forgive and forget - David's downfall came in 2004 in the form of Rebecca Loos, 32.

"The Beckhams were obviously able to talk through their problems, learnt to understand one another, and then put it behind them," says Quilliam.

3 Family comes first - The Beckhams have produced a hat-trick of gorgeous sons: Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, six, and break-dancing Cruz, four.

"When you're in a loving marriage and know you can weather any storm, having a child can bring you even closer, provide a focus for your love and give you a shared job to do," says Quilliam.

4 Be each other's cheerleader - The couple idolises each other.

"Victoria's made many sacrifices, but both have genuinely admired and supported the other. Be proud of what your partner does - and tell them so," says Quilliam.

5 Dress for marriage success - The Beckhams ensure their glamour dial is always cranked up to 11 on nights out.

"It's a sign of disrespect to your partner to let yourself go. By taking care of themselves, David and Victoria help keep the lust alive," says Quilliam.

6 When two become one - Their penchant for copycat behaviour is a sure-fire sign of a successful relationship.

"While individuality is important, their 'matching' styles, and the overlap between them, shows the world they have a rock-solid partnership - they think, feel and act the same," says Quilliam.

7 All you need is love - Victoria and David travel thousands of miles to spend one night together.

"They're constantly declaring their love. Just saying: 'I love you' every day goes a long way in keeping romance alive," says Quilliam.

8 The in-laws are not the enemy - The secret of a happy relationship is a happy family. With their hectic schedules, David and Victoria would be lost without Sandra and Jackie, their respective mothers-in-law, who regularly travel with the family, acting as babysitters and allowing the couple to spend precious time alone.

"The Beckhams know the importance of making their mums feel involved and valued. They give the family stability and are a vital source of support," says Quilliam.

9 Never air your dirty laundry in public - Behind the scenes, Posh and Becks have had their fair share of humdinger rows. But unlike other celebrity couples, they're careful never to argue or criticise each other in public.

"David and Victoria have such a public profile that even the slightest hint of tension would quickly come back to haunt them. They never criticise or bad-mouth each other, and if anything negative happens, they close ranks," says Quilliam.

10 Spice up (Sex) life - Posh is regularly seen scouring LA's sex shops and stocking up on red-hot goodies. And David often buys sexy underwear for his missus.

"Love thrives on physical passion. Shared pleasure and sex binds them together and helps them get through stressful times," says Quilliam

Comment : Brilliant team work made Arudhathi a big hit. One can show this film to their non-telugu friends to project our film industry's talent. Special effects and the acting parts of Anushka and Sonu meet the Hollywood heights. A film must be seen by every Telugite only on silver screens. Don't watch film on internet sites and pirated DVD's. Story: This film's story outline is based on the Hindi movie '1920'. And don't expect anything from it and don't underestimate the storyline. Never ask the story before going to this movie. 3 hours Magic which keeps your eyes either half opened or fully opened. And don't reveal the story to filmgoers.

Star Performance: Anushka entered into the character and does great job. Sonu sood competed with Anushka in acting. Both of them are 'SUPERB'. One can't comment on their performance and can't stay without praising. And all the remaining cast did well.

Movie Highlights: Here we have to discuss every pin point in the movie. But we don't have that much space to discuss. I will use only one word to describe the highlights - ' Ultimate'.

Technical Analysis: First of all we have to pay Hats off to the dynamic Producer M. Shyam Prasad Reddy. After comes the director Kodi Ramakrishna. His direction is excellent. Koti's Music is brilliant. Chintalapally Ramana's dialogues are good. Mainly Sonu's dialogues are very catchy. Dubbing is rich. Story, screenplay by Mallemala unit is extravagant. Senthil Kumar's Camera Magic gave great strength to the cinema. Rahul Nambiar's special effects brought the movie to holly heights. Marthand's editing is cool. Importantly, the make-up and costumes are very nice. Moreover production values are very high.

Minus: Second half is good but not brighter that first one. The other negative thing is 'violence', which averts the female band. Delay in release did little damage to the expectations but after release it's Ok.
